Who are we... and what do we do?
Hungry for Change was established in April 2011 by Hannah Rushbrooke (20) and Sophie Lowe (22), both passionate about making a difference as a result of their experience. "Eating Disorders, a lot of the time are about control. Instead of the control being a bad thing, I wanted to make it a good thing once recovered....that is one of the reasons I set up Hungry for Change, I channel it into something positive and to bring some good out of what was the hardest period of my life." - Hannah Rushbrooke (Co-Founder) When talking about Eating Disorders, very often people assume that it is simply just Anorexia and Bulimia that they're talking about. However, there are many more Eating Disorders that go unnoticed. We want to change this and highlight to the public the Eating Disorders that aren't spoken about enough. As well as this, we are adamant for the portrayal of Eating Disorders to change: they are a mental illness and all sufferers deserve treatment, regardless of the Eating Disorder type or the sufferer's weight. We are Hungry for Change.
Are you?
Hungry for Change is a campaign that raises awareness of all Eating Disorders. The campaign was co-founded by two university students, both of whom have suffered from an Eating Disorder and are determined to stamp out the stigma attached to Eating Disorders.
